Arcadia Alive has been delivering Driver Support training since 2001 helping train drivers improve their Human Factors and Non-Technical Skills
The programme fills a real gap for drivers who are technically well trained, but are struggling with confidence and/or the mental after-effects of an incident or performance lapse. It helps the driver’s understanding of what they are experiencing, the human factor issues involved, and the impact on their confidence levels.
Arcadia Alive has found that drivers who have had an incident often need support and guidance to enable them to understand what they have experienced, how it affects them, and what strategies they can use to restore the confidence and skills required to resume a professional driving career.
The programme is offered:
The Content is tailored to the specific needs of the specific Driver.
Modules available include:
There is a well known and documented increased risk of Trainee Drivers in the PQA period having more safety of the line incidents.
The Aim of the programme is to:
The programme is designed to give Trainee Drivers the ability to:
The programme incorporates all the elements of the Drivers NTS Personal Safety Plan Workshop and then builds around these additional elements designed specifically for trainee drivers and the additional risks experienced during their PQA period.
Our Human Factor and Non-Technical Skills Programmes have a proved track record of reducing incidents. One client who had reported 13 SPADs (Signal Passed at Danger) within a six-month period put all their 137 drivers through the one of our programmes and had no reported SPADs in the next 4 years. Analysis of incident rates with a client we have been working with for the last three years showed 93% of the Drivers remained incident free following attendance of our programmes.
We then tracked the performance in incident and SPAD rates. The red line on the graph showing where we started, with two years of data before and three years after.
